About Aerocabler
We built Aerocabler to solve a specific, recurring problem in aerospace engineering: finding the right supplier for critical interconnect systems shouldn't require months of vetting.
The Complexity of Aerospace Interconnects
A typical commercial airliner contains over 300 miles of wiring. Military aircraft and spacecraft push the boundaries further, operating in environments with extreme vibration, temperature fluctuations, and electromagnetic interference. In these applications, a single faulty crimp or improper shield termination isn't just an inconvenience—it's a critical failure.
Despite this, the process of sourcing capable, certified manufacturers for custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies remains fragmented. Engineers waste hours sifting through generic directories that don't distinguish between a commercial IT cable shop and a specialized AS9100D-certified facility capable of complex potting, laser marking, and rigorous automated testing.
Our Methodology
Aerocabler indexes suppliers based on hard data and verifiable capabilities, not marketing budget. We focus specifically on:
- Quality Management Systems: Verifying current AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP certifications.
- Testing Infrastructure: Documenting capabilities for automated continuity, hi-pot, VSWR, and environmental testing.
- Specialized Processes: Tracking expertise in complex operations like overmolding, complex braiding, and cleanroom assembly.
- Compliance: Identifying ITAR-registered facilities capable of handling restricted defense articles.
The RFQ Process
Our RFQ capture system streamlines the quoting process. By standardizing the technical requirements upfront—from EAQ to material specs—we ensure suppliers receive complete data packages. This reduces the back-and-forth engineering queries and significantly accelerates quote turnaround times.
